Happy Holidays little man fans. These past few months have been dry for LML content, and there's a couple reasons for that. But the main one is that we're remaking the engine with the help of Omnipresentwaffle. The engine that we've been working off of for the past couple of months was derived from the original demo of little man legends on scratch. Since the demo was coded and optimized very messily we've decided to just rebuild the game from the ground up on Penguinmod. While this might be a massive undertaking, this will help with optimization and smoothen future development. It'll also make the game way easier to mod.

LITTLE MAN LEGENDS.

The Dialogue System is currently being overhauled (again). The last time you guys saw it the method we used was simply making separate images for every single line of text in the game with an accompanying dialogue portrait. However this made it inefficient to create new dialogue alongside clogging up the file size. The current plan for this system is to have something similar to most RPGs where dialogue is stored within the games code instead of being individual sprites. I would like to show this system off but its very buggy in its current state.

Hitboxes have been simplified tremendously. Before the game used 3 separate objects to determine hitboxes, Walls, Grounds, and Ceilings. This was very tedious. Now, the new system not only allows for it all to be condensed into one object, but it also allows for smooth semi solids and sloped surfaces. Making new screens is easier than ever before!

Little Mans Code is now comprehensible and not slop. Everything is being organized in a way where it is much more understandable and easy to edit and tinker with.

We intend to pick up pace on overall development after Christmas so look forward to more teasers.
